A bleach-containing detergent composition which contains a peroxygen bleachingcompound and a bleach activator is disclosed. Thebleach activator is in the form of particles having a mean particle diameterof 200 microns to 2000 microns. Also disclosed are bleachactivator particles in the form of substantially cylindrically-shapedextrudates having a mean extrudate length of from about 500 micronsto about 3500 microns and a mean extrudate diameter of from about 450 micronsto about 850 microns.
