DEVICE CUSTOMIZED HOME NETWORK TOP-LEVEL INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

A method and system forgenerating a user interface in a plurality ofmultiple devices connected to the networksystem for controlling devices that are currentlyconnected to a network. A network systemincludes a physical layer, wherein the physicallayer provides a communication medium thatcan be used by devices to communicate witheach other, and multiple devices connected tothe physical layer, one or more of the multipledevices storing information including deviceinformation. A plurality of the multiple deviceseach including an agent adapted for: (a) obtaininginformation from devices currently connectedto the network, the information including deviceinformation; (b) generating a user interfacedescription in each of the one or more devicesbased at least on the obtained information, theuser interface description in each device includingat least one reference associated with the deviceinformation of each of the devices currentlyconnected to the network; and (c) displaying oneor more user interfaces each based on one of theone or more user interface descriptions, on oneor more devices connected to the network capableof displaying a user interface, for user controlof the devices that are currently connected to thenetwork.
