A model of a test case is created which is used to formally define the variousportions of a test case and the test script which implements the test case. Inone aspect,the invention processes an existing test script to identify the components inthe test scriptwhich correspond to the portions defined in a model of a test case. Theseidentifiedportions are then used to create a test script which corresponds to thestructure of the testmodel. Additionally, embodiments of the invention enable the creation of testscripts, inone or more languages, from a test case which conforms to the model. As willbeappreciated, the model employed could be modified or altered to provideadditionaladvantages such as enabling extensions of the model to be created.
