Provided are a method and apparatus for transmitting modulereference information representing application resources in a data carouselscenario of a DASE data broadcasting system. The method includesinserting uniform resource identifier (URI) information into aDownloadServerInitiate (DSI) message that provides information regarding amodule group, the module group having a predetermined number of modulesand the URI information being shared by modules belonging to the modulegroup, and inserting the remaining URI information, except for the sharedURI information, into a DownloadInfoIndication (DII) message that providesthe module information. Accordingly, it is possible to save space in a DIImessage and consequently insert more modules into the DII message.
