The invention relates to a method for producing optionally coupled, non-blocked polymers based on conjugated dienes or optionally coupled, non-blocked copolymers based on conjugated dienes and vinyl aromatic compounds by anionic polymerization in an inert organic solvent in the presence of a lithium organic compound as initiator and a microstructure chain transfer agent and/or randomizer, certain ether compounds being used as the microstructure chain transfer agent and/or randomizer. The polymers produced in this manner are particularly suitable for producing damping materials, tires and tire components (e.g. tire treads or side walls) and commercial rubber products.
