PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide concentrated biomass-water slurry, which can be used as the alternative fuel for heavy oil, by making use of cellulose-based biomass, which is not effectively used, as the raw material.;SOLUTION: A reforming process which reforms cellulose-based materials in the presence of water under a pressure of saturated vapor pressure or higher, a separating process in which the reformed reactant thus obtained is separated into the solid component and liquid component, a grinding process in which the solid component obtained in the separating process is ground into particles of average particle size of 30 m or smaller, and a kneading process in which the solid component is kneaded with additives and optionally with water, are provided. The production method for the biomass-water slurry comprises simultaneous execution of the grinding process and kneading process or successive execution of the grinding process and kneading process in this order. The biomass-water slurry contains the ground cellulose-based biomass, which is deformed under pressure of saturated vapor pressure or higher and has an average particle size of 30 m or smaller, at a rate of 50 mass% in terms of solid content.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
