A nucleic acid coding for human PDE8B, comprises (a) a DNA sequence according to Abb. 10, (b) a sequence differing therefrom, which nevertheless codes for the same amino acid sequence, (c) a sequence coding for a protein with mutations or deletions, which do not substantially affect the activity, or (d) a sequence hybridised with the sequence according to Abb. 10, insofar as the above codes for a protein with PDE8B activity. According to the invention, an expression vector contains the above sequences in a suitable vector.
