PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new material, especially a fiber which has silklike luster and feeling, moisture retaining properties, or the like, comprises a thermoplastic synthetic polymer as a main component and has excellent biocompatibility, and a biocompatible new material which has reduced strength degradation of a synthetic fiber and stands practical use even if silk powder is added to the synthetic fiber composed of a thermoplastic synthetic polymer. ;SOLUTION: The biocompatible core-sheath type conjugate fiber comprises a core material composed of a thermoplastic synthetic polymer and a sheath material composed of the silk powder substantially not containing powder particles having 10 μm particle diameter and a thermoplastic synthetic polymer having ≤200°C melting point.
