Use of 6 amino-quinoline-5, 8 quinones and nucleic acids associated with senescence for the treatment of tumors

Use of at least one 6-amino-quinoline-5,8-quinone (I) for preparing a composition for the treatment of tumors. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) nucleic acid (II) associated with senescence, which encodes e.g. transcription factor 8, guanylate cyclase 1, mannosidase, fibulin 2, fibrillin 2, laminin, microfibrillar-associated protein 4, angiogenic inducer, heat shock 70kD, protein 4, thioredoxin reductase (Table 2 in specification); (2) recombinant vector (III) containing (II); (3) recombinant cell (IV) transformed or transfected with (II) or (III); (4) polypeptide (V) associated with senescence encoded by (II); and (5) composition (VI) comprising (II), (III) or (V), optionally together with a conventional carrier substance and adjuvants. ACTIVITY : Cytostatic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Inhibitor of tumor cell proliferation by (I) induced activation of cellular senescence, cell cycle arrest, apoptosis (claimed); Inducer of p21 in a p53-independent manner.
