A method and system for awarding an instant rebate are provided. The method comprises determining a purchase price for a purchase of at least one item made by a client; activating a random rebate generator when the purchase price is determined; randomly determining using the random rebate generator if an amount proportional to the purchase price is to be awarded to the client; reducing the purchase price by the proportional amount if the proportional amount is to be awarded. Preferably, the item is a fresh product.
