The closure valve is incorporated in a steam line between a first expansion stage and a second expansion stage with a reduced pressure level and provided by a number of elements (25a,25b,25c,25d), which together block the cross-section of the steam line. At least one of the latter elements has one or more openings which do not extend through its its full thickness. An Independent claim for a steam turbine plant with a steam line closure valve is also included.
