Weather and soiling-resistant silicone-containing coating composition

A coating agent composition comprising: (A) an organic resin, and (B) a silicone compound represented by the average composition formula (1): (X)a(Y')b(R1)cSiO(4-a-b-c)/2 wherein X is a particular functional group containing organic group, Y' is a hydrolyzable group or an admixture of a hydrolyzable group and the silanol group, R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, a ranges from 0.05 to 0.90, b 0.12 to 1.88, and c 0.10 to 1.00, a + b + c being in the range of 2.02 to 2.67. The amount of the silicon atoms to which said functional group-containing organic group X is bonded is 5 to 90 mol % based on the entire silicon atoms, and the amount of the T unit of R1-SiO3/2 is 10 to 95 mole % based on the entire siloxane units. This composition is useful to form a coating film excellent in weathering resistance, adhesion, stain resistance, scuffing resistance, water resistance and chemical resistance and therefore suitable for protection of articles exposed outdoors.
