Method of determining or estimating at least one flexural property of a load applied to a stiff or flexible pressure sensor array, comprising the steps of: determing forces from a plurality of discrete outputs from a plurality of sensors or discrete locations of the pressure sensor array generated by the load; determing at least an estimate of flexural property of the load from a mechanical model of the load and pressure sensor array assuming that the load and pressure sensor array form a contiguous beam which statically or instantly loaded.
