Production of disazo pigments (I) by (a) diazotizing an aromatic amine, and performing one or more steps in a microreactor. Production of disazo pigments (I) by: (a) diazotizing an aromatic amine; (b) reacting the product with a coupling component to form an azocarboxylic acid or azodicarboxylic acid; (c) forming an azocarboxylic acid chloride or azodicarboxylic acid dichloride; and (d) condensing the azocarboxylic acid chloride with an aromatic diamine or condensing the azodicarboxylic acid dichloride with an aromatic amine comprises performing steps (c) and (d) and optionally steps (a) and (b) in a microreactor.
