Door handle profile (100) for sliding doors comprises a C-shaped profile for placing on an edge of a door leaf (1) of a sliding door. The middle bar (2) faces the edge and the two arms (3, 4) lie in contact with a surface (15) of the door leaf. One of the two arms has a curved handle part (7) with a free edge (8) lying opposite the middle bar which faces the surface of the door leaf and is positioned so that a hollow space (16) inaccessible to the user's fingers is formed between the handle part and the surface of the door leaf. An Independent claim is also included for an alternative door handle profile. Preferred Features: The free edge lies in contact with the surface of the door leaf.
