The invention relates to a device (1; 101; 201; 301; 401; 501) for opening a valve (3; 203; 303; 403; 503) of a tank (2; 402), especially an air-inlet valve or a gas-leak valve of a fermentation or digestion tank (2; 402), said valve (3; 203; 303; 403; 503) being connected to the inner chamber (6) of the tank (2; 402), and being actuatable in the event of a change in pressure in the inner chamber (6) of the tank (2; 402) in relation to the ambient pressure. The inventive device is characterised in that: the valve (3; 203; 303) can be actuated by a separate working means (10; 110; 210; 310; 410; 510) having a working chamber (20; 420) which is connected to the inner chamber (6) of the tank (2; 402) and can vary according to the pressure differences; the working chamber (20; 420) is closed from the outside environment; and a gas-inlet opening or a gas-leak opening of the valve (3; 203; 303; 403; 503) is arranged on or above a lower edge (471) of the roof (70; 470) of the tank (2). The invention also relates to a corresponding fermentation or digestion tank (2; 402).
