The method involves determining a basic address conversion relationship for a first data channel between first and second communications networks for a connection requesting network element associated with the first communications network. All further channels are formed from the basic address conversion relationship using a defined algorithm and set up by the address converter. An Independent claim is also included for an address converter for communications networks.
