Flat textile structure and process for finishing flat textile structures

A textile fabric, especially a woven natural fiber fabric, which is to be wound up in a roll and used e.g. for cutting out trim for vehicles, has the underside (19) covered completely by an adhesive film (20). The film is a melt-adhesive applied at a rate of 20 to 50 g/m2 and evens out any unevenness on the underside of the fabric to give a smooth surface. An Independent claim is also included for the process of treating fabric by applying an adhesive to one side of the fabric, especially a melt adhesive in powder form, activating the adhesive, e.g. by heat and pressure, and winding up the fabric in a roll.
