The present invention relates to novel colorants, based on 1,4,5,8-naphthalene tetracarboxylic dianhydride, for the mass coloring of synthetic polar polymers, such as polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates and ABS, with improved heat stability and light fastness.;The invention further relates to a process for preparation of said colorants and to their use in transparent plastics, in fibre applications and in toner or coating applications.
