A Darius windmill comprises a rotor having a plurality of blades (8) around a vertical rotating shaft (6). Each of the blades (8) is in the form of a bag of which the rear end portion with respect to the rotating direction thereof is cut to form an opening (16). Each blade (8) has a fixed uniform cross section in a direction parallel to the vertical rotating shaft (6).
