The invention relates to a high resolution bathymetric sidescan sonar system for measuring the micro-geomorphy of the sea bottom and a measurement method. Said sonar system comprises: an underwater electronic subsystem mounted on an underwater vehicle, and two sonar arrays mounted symmetrically on the two sides of the lower part of an underwater vehicle, the sonar arrays are connected to the underwater electronic subsystem through a cable. The features are: each of said sonar arrays comprises a transmitting linear array for transmitting linearly frequency modulated signal and three or more parallel receiving linear arrays made of piezoelectric ceramic and arranged at equal spaces; wherein the transmitting linear array is connected to the last stage of a power amplifier of the underwater electronic subsystem, the parallel receiving linear arrays are connected to a preamplifier of the receiver of the underwater electronic subsystem; the space between the adjacent parallel receiving linear arrays is d, λ d ≥ λ /2, where λ is the wavelength of the acoustic wave; The precision of depth measurement for the place adjacent to the area right under the sonar is improved greatly when measuring the micro-profile of the sea bottom by said system; the sea bottom can be detected very well, the multipath signal may be deleted, and the precision of depth measurement and the bathymetric chart may be obtained when adopting the SBAD-MSADOAE method of the invention.
