The process involves inserting a tattooing bit on a displacement vector to obtain tattooed displacement vectors. Coordinates of the displacement vector are modified to be situated in a binary value zone of the bit. An optimal tattooed displacement vector is selected, based on preset criteria, in a manner such that the modified coordinates are the coordinates of the optimal vector. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a process for extracting tattooing of a video image sequence (b) a device for tattooing a video image sequence (c) a signal representing a video image sequence recorded on a support utilized in a computer (d) a computer program product having instruction to execute a process of tattooing a video image sequence.
