A Large scale Optical Cross Connect Switching System using Optical Switch fabric Modules

PURPOSE: A large scale optical cross connect switching system using an optical switch fabric module is provided to easily insert or remove the corresponding OSFM(Optical Switch Fabric Module) while operating a network by securing modularity. CONSTITUTION: An optical switch fabric(704) switches a plurality of optical wavelengths(713) transmitted to an input port, to a wanted output port according to a request of wavelength conversion by wavelengths. A first switching element(709) receives the conversion-requested wavelength in an input port for switching the same to an output port. A plurality of wavelength converters(710) receive the conversion-requested wavelength for converting the same into a wanted wavelength. A second switching element(711) switches to send the converted wavelength to a wanted input port.
