PURPOSE: A small-sized feature element type optical module is provided to minimize the size of a package and easily connect the package with a substrate by protruding pins from one side of the package to the external horizontally and laying the horizontally protruded pins at more than 2 layers. CONSTITUTION: An optical transmit module comprises an integrated module package(115), a substrate(101), a light-emitting element(103), and a light-receiving element(104). A condensing unit is provided on the front side of the package(115). Also the package(115) has a structure of pins laid at more than 2 layers and protruded to the external from its rear side horizontally. The substrate(101) is attached to the low surface of the inner chamber of the package(115). The light-emitting element(103) is fixed to the upper part of the substrate(101). The light-receiving element(104) is provided as a sensor to control the optical output of the light-emitting element(103). The condensing unit comprises a lens inserting slot(122), a transmitting lens(116), and a transmitting guide pipe(118). The lens inserting slot(122) and the transmitting lens(116) are formed at the front side of the package(115). The transmitting guide pipe(118) has a hollow part, which a transmitting ferrule(112) is inserted into.
