PURPOSE: A catalyst for refining reforming gas is provided, in which precious metal and selectively alkali metal, alkali earth metal or complex thereof are supported onto a commercial support, and a method for selectively removing carbon monoxide in reforming gas using the catalyst is provided. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is characterized in that at least one precious metal selected from the group consisting of rhodium, platinum, iridium, ruthenium and palladium and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of alkali metal and alkali earth metal are supported onto a support formed of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of transition metal and amphoteric metal or an oxide of the selected metal, content of the precious metal is 0.01 to 10 wt.% based on the weight of the support, and content of the alkali metal and alkali earth metal is 0.01 to 20 wt.% based on the weight of the support. The catalyst is characterized in that at least one precious metal selected from the group consisting of rhodium, platinum, iridium, ruthenium and palladium is supported onto a support formed of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of alkali metal and alkali earth metal, at least one metal selected from the group consisting of transition metal and amphoteric metal or oxides of the selected metals, content of the precious metal is 0.01 to 10 wt.% based on the weight of the support, and content of the alkali metal and alkali earth metal contained in the support is 1 to 90 wt.% based on the weight of the support.
