PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating charging data in an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node) subsystem in a GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) network is provided to minimize the load of charging processing by creating charging data and transmitting the created data to a CGF(Charging Gateway Function) through Ga interface between SGSN-CGFs in the case of modifying an S-CDR(SGSN-Call Detail Record) and an M-CDR(Mobility-Call Detail Record), without connecting existing subscriber charging data. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for generating charging data in an SGSN subsystem in a GPRS network comprises an SSMB(SGSN Session Management Block)(100), a PMMB(Packet Mobility Management Block)(200), an SGHB(SGSN GTP Handling Block)(300), an SDMB(SGSN Database Management Block)(400), and an SCGB(500). The SSMB(100) executes a session function. The PMMB(200) executes mobility management, and generates an M-CDR creation request message when a detach occurs in a handover. The SGHB(300) processes a GTP protocol, and generates an S-CDR creation request message in deleting a PDP(Packet Data Protocol) context. The SDMB(400) manages the data generated in the SGSN subsystem. The SCGB(500), connected with the SSMB(100), the PMMB(200), the SGHB(300), and the SDMB(400), creates charging data through a received charging data creation request message and a database storing charging information, encodes the created data, and transfers the encoded charging data to the SGHB(300).
