METHOD FOR MEASURING DIPOLE MOMENT SIZE OF DIPOLAR PARTICLE

PURPOSE: A method for measuring dipole moment of a dipolar particle is provided to measure the zeta potential or the dipole moment of the charge distribution by using the electrophoresis and the linear magnetic field to measure the velocity of the translational motion of a particle. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of electrodes(1) are arranged between two plates(2) to maintain a particular gap. The DC power of 2V is applied to the electrodes(1) in order to generate the electric field. The suspension of dipolar particles is injected between two plates(2). The electrical potential is generated by the electric field of the electrodes(1). The velocity of the translational motion of particles is measured by using the linear magnetic field and the electrophoresis of the dipolar particles in order to measure the zeta potential of the particles or the dipole moment of the dipolar particles of charge distribution.
