PURPOSE: A process for constructing a riverbank is provided by using low quality of soil and the soil in field in order to enhance supporting force and durability of a soft ground with a reinforcement of sand column formed on the soft ground. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises introducing sand column(20) into a ring-type geo-grid(10) having high stress on a soft ground(100) to improve/reinforce the ground(100); forming a riverbank(200) by applying a soil and earth material(30) made of the soil in field, clay, sand and other low grade soil over the ground(100) provided with the sand column(20) with net form geo-grids(40) as a reinforcing material having high stress. The geo-grid(40) is produced in a net form by aramid or PVA fibers, for example, in case of aramid fiber, having about 50-1600kN/m of tensile strength and 3.5% or less of elongation while PVA fiber, having about 50-1200kN/m and 5% or less of the same.
