Desiccant by using the natural mineral and the calcium chloride (or magnesium chloride) and its manufacturing process

PURPOSE: Provided are a moisture absorbent made of natural ore and calcium chloride (or magnesium chloride), and a method for fabricating the same absorbent excellent in absorptivity and duration without causing environmental pollution when it is discarded. CONSTITUTION: The fabrication method comprises the steps of (a) mixing vermiculite having a mean diameter in a range of 1 to 3 mm and calcium chloride or magnesium chloride while spraying water to the mixture until the surface of the mixture is wet, (b) feeding the mixture to a rotary molding machine while spraying bentonite and a small amount of water to the mixture, thereby forming primary moldings, (c) sprinkling water and mixed powder formed by mixing one among lime, dolomite and plaster with cement with a mixing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 to the primary moldings to form secondary moldings, (d) drying the secondary moldings in a drier at a temperature in a range of 300-400C to reduce moisture content of the secondary moldings to below 0.5%, and (e) sorting the dried secondary moldings using a vibration screen.
