PURPOSE: Provided is a health food composition containing natural product extract for reducing blood glucose level through the promotion of insulin release. It has few adverse side effect, promotes insulin release, reduces blood glucose level and is used as therapeutics for diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A health food composition for reducing blood glucose level through the promotion of insulin release is characterize by containing, based on the total weight of the composition, an effective amount of, preferably 10-60 wt.% of, extracts of natural products, such as Phlomis umbrosa Turcz., Cynanchum wilfordii (MAX.) HEMSL., and dried ginger.
