Method for conversion from GEOMania Data File to DXF file

PURPOSE: A conversion method of a GDF(Geomania Data File) into a DXF(Drawing eXchange Format) is provided to easily use a large quantity of GDF GIS(Geographic Information System) data in other GIS or CAD system so that it can reduce a time and cost in constructing a GIS. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of reading GDF from a map data storage, and storing the GDF at a RAM(100), displaying the GDF on a screen(110), extracting a layer name from a header part of the GDF and storing the layer name at the RAM(120), extracting characteristic values of standard spatial data, and X-Y coordinate values of a left upper part and a right lower part from a spatial part of the GDF(130), extracting the number of overall pages from a page allocation header of the spatial part(140), converting the X-Y coordinate values of a left upper part and a right lower part into a header part of the DXF file and converting the characteristic values of standard spatial data into a table part of the DXF file(150), extracting the data type, the line type and the coordinate value of each spatial data included in the page body of the spatial part(160), and converting the data type, the line type and the coordinate value of each spatial data into an entity part of the DXF file(170).
