VIDEO BROWSING SYSTEM BASED ON ARTICLE OF NEWS VIDEO CONTENT

PURPOSE: A system for summarizing and browsing news video contents based on news items is provided to grasp desired contents within a short period of time and to easily select and browse a required new item using a new browsing interface. CONSTITUTION: News video contents are divided into items. An anchor key frame, an episode key frame, and a text key frame with respect to a corresponding item are extracted and indexed as summary elements for representing the corresponding news item. A news item based browsing interface summarizes an item of news video contents in an image list using the anchor key frame, episode key frame and text key frame, and displays the entire news video contents summarized for each news item. The anchor key frame is a frame extracted from an anchor shot of the news item. The episode key frame is extracted from an episode scene in the news item. The text key frame is obtained by summarizing key texts representing news contents in one image.
