PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing an ultrafine silica powder having size of below 1.0 micrometer, wherein the powder has near-circular shape not having sharp edges. CONSTITUTION: The method for crushing a silica into ultrafine silica powder having size of less than 1.0 micrometer by using physical procedure, is characterized by comprising the steps of (i) attaching a ceramic or urethane(organic polymer) inside the crusher in order to inhibit a generation of contamination; (ii) preparing a modified stirred-mill having rotation axis coated with nitride and rotation bar of zirconia; (iii) water-washing, drying, coarsely crushing, and moderately crushing silica ore(lump) to decrease a size of the silica powder; (iv) mixing the silica powder with ball in alumina crusher in ratio of 1:5(by weight) to obtain a mixture; (v) adding a distilled water that is mineral liquid, and an organic solvent having 50-60% pulp density to the mixture so that the mixture comprises 50-70 vol% of the crusher; and (vi) crushing the ball by using 3-5 mm media(any one of alumina, zirconia, and nonmetallic mineral) with rotating the rotation bar connected to the motor rotation axis with terminal rotation rate of about 4-5 m/sec for 30-60 minutes in the crusher, wherein coolant is circulated outside the crusher to inhibit an elevation of internal temperature of the crusher, and distilled water or organic solvent is supplemented in order to constantly control a concentration of mineral liquid in the crushed product, thereby the ball being wet-crushed.
