Apparatus and Method for Object Identifier scheme and instance Repository Management of Simple Network Management Protocol

PURPOSE: A device and a method for managing a repository for an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) managing object system are provided to simplify diverse MIB(Management Information Base) structures and to easily reflect the modification of the MIB by separating and expressing the management information of each device. CONSTITUTION: An MIB interpreter(20) extracts an object and an OID(Object ID) value by interpreting an MIB file for a network device. A filter(22) classifies the object and the OID value into the information for generating an OID system tree and an object instance tree. An OID system tree generator(24) generates the OID system tree and stores it in the repository. An object instance tree generator(26) generates the object instance tree. An object instance tree searcher(30) searches the link information between an object node and the corresponding node on the OID system tree by searching the object instance tree. An XML(eXtensible Markup Language) transformer(34) extracts the OID value on the OID system tree and the OID value of the object instance node, transforms it into a form to be output from an NMS(Network Management System), and transfers it to the NMS.
