PURPOSE: Provided is a method for removing biomass excessively proliferated on a biofilter with high efficiency at low cost, the method being easier than a conventional method such as a mechanical mixing and an air mixing. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of installing ultrasonic wave generator into a filter layer within a biofilter, filling the filter layer with washing water, separating sludge from the filter layer by starting the ultrasonic wave generator, and discharging the washing water.
