- Dental machinable glass-ceramic restorative and prothodontic materials

PURPOSE: Provided is a glass-ceramic material composition which involves excellent physical and mechanical characteristics and machinability, and is used as a dental restorative material or a prosthetic material. CONSTITUTION: A glass-ceramic material composition is prepared through the steps of: mixing 30-40wt.% of silica, 0-20wt.% of alumina, 10-30wt.% of magnesium oxide, 5-10wt.% of potassium oxide, 0-5wt.% of sodium oxide, 10-15wt.% of calcium oxide, 4.5-5.5wt.% of magnesium fluoride, and 5-15wt.% of phosphorous oxide; melting the mixture; and heat-treating the molten mixture at high temperature.
