Method for surveying the characteristics of joint on rock slope using image

PURPOSE: A method for inspecting a geometric characteristic of a rock slope joint is provided to improve reliability of a statistical result for the geometric characteristic of the rock slope joint by using a digital camera. CONSTITUTION: A photographing schedule is prepared according to an object to be analyzed and a field condition. A digital camera is installed at a predetermined position according to the photographing schedule. A spatial coordinate measuring device is installed at a zero point of measurement. Then, three adjusting points(C1,C2,C3) are set in a rock slope surface. After photographing the object, a first photographing plane is photographed by adjusting a photographing direction of the digital camera. Then, a ground assist point device is installed. Then, a spatial coordinate of the ground assist point is measured. After that, a spatial coordinate of a vertex of a joint surface is induced from an image coordinate. Then, a normal vector of the joint surface is determined based on the spatial coordinate of the vertex of a joint surface.
