PURPOSE: A scour monitoring system of an underwater structure using TDR(time Domain Reflectometry) or OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometry) is provided to prevent accidents by previously recognizing erosion or scour on the surface of concrete of the underwater without using expensive equipment. CONSTITUTION: A scour monitoring system of an underwater structure(6) using TDR or OTDR comprises a drill hole(4) installed in the underwater structure; a coaxial cable or communicative optical fiber cable(1); such a filler as mortar for filling after installing a cable system including a protective pipe(3) made of FRP(Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics) and the cable; and a TDR or OTDR system for projecting a pulse signal into the cable. The scour monitoring system of the underwater structure using TDR or OTDR measures the scour degree by using the drill hole, the cable, the filler, and the TDR or OTDR system.
