PURPOSE: A method for driving an input/output sense amp of a semiconductor memory device and its driving control circuit are provided to prevent the generation of skew by maintaining a constant delay time interval between a bit line selection signal and an input/output sense amp driving signal. CONSTITUTION: According to an apparatus for driving an input/output sense amp of a semiconductor memory device, a driver(76) generates an input/output sense amp driving signal(FRP1) by receiving pre decoding column addresses being output from a column pre-decoder. And a delay outputs a delayed sense amp driving signal(FRP) by delaying the sense amp driving signal(FRP1) generated from the driver(76). The set time of the delay is a time, until a bit line selection signal(CSL) is generated and then data selected for second amplification is applied to input/output sense amps(78,82).
