PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a solder ball and an apparatus thereof are provided to prevent the damage of all kinds of additional parts due to mechanical vibration by using electromagnetic field instead of the mechanical vibration. CONSTITUTION: A solder ball is formed by separating and cooling drops from the flow of alloy molten metal. At this time, electromagnetic force is applied to the flow of the alloy molten metal for forming and cooling the drops. At the time, a solder ball manufacturing apparatus is provided with a molten metal crucible for storing the alloy molten metal, a molten metal pipe(23) connected through the lower portion of the molten metal crucible for guiding the flow of the alloy molten metal, and a plurality of electromagnets(24) at the lower portion of the molten metal pipe.
