-2000 Method for setup of traffic channel in asynchronous IMT-2000 system

PURPOSE: A traffic channel setting method in an asynchronous IMT-2000 system is provided to simply and effectively set a traffic channel through a channel mapping. CONSTITUTION: A channel setup message is received from a base station(ST11). The setup message is transmitted to a modem(ST12). A binding ID is extracted through a mapping table from a VPI/VCI(Virtual Path Identifier/Virtual Channel Identifier) and inputted to a pertinent DB(ST13). It is checked whether a FP(Frame Protocol) message has been received(ST14). If the message has been received, a corresponding VPI/VCI is detected and a binding ID is extracted through an ATM SAR(Segmentation And Reassembly)(ST15). A corresponding physical channel is searched from the DB and a transport channel mapping is performed(ST16). An FP traffic is transmitted to the physical channel(ST17). It is checked whether a call has been released, and if the call has not been released, the above process is repeatedly performed(ST18).
