2000 Method for auto allocation and setting of MAC address in CDMA2000 system

PURPOSE: A method for automatically allocating and setting a MAC(Medium Access Control) address in a CDMA2000 system is provided to prevent a failure in an IP packet communication in mounting a new hardware in a system or replacing hardware of a slot with a different hardware by applying setting a single MAC address for each project, system, shelf and slot by software. CONSTITUTION: When a hardware is mounted or replaced in a standby state(ST11,ST12), a CPU(Central Processor Unit) reads each identifier(a project identifier, a system identifier, a shelf identifier and a slot identifier) by software(ST13). The CPU stores the identifiers in a storing unit of the hardware(ST14). The hardware is set(ST15). Different MAC addresses are set and automatically allocated to each slot(ST16).
