PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a composite material having low thermal expansion coefficient, high thermal conductivity and low density appropriate for heat control device of electronic instrument, particularly a thin sheet shaped composite material through simple manufacturing process is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a manufacturing method of a metallic matrix composite material, the method for manufacturing an Al-SiC composite material thin sheet comprises the steps of obtaining spray coating powder by mixing aluminum powder with SiC powder, and forming a thin strip by plasma spray coating the spray coating powder on a graphite substrate, wherein the spray coating powder is prepared by mixing Al powder with 40 to 70 vol.% of SiC powder, wherein the spray coating powder is mixed by a ball mill, wherein the plasma spray coating is performed in the plasma arc range of 20 to 40 kW after controlling flow rate of first gas to the range of 45 to 55 liter/min by maintaining a distance from spray coating nozzle to substrate to the range of 110 to 130 mm and setting moving speed of the spray coating powder to the range of 20 to 30 g/min, and wherein the surface of the graphite substrate is coated to improve easiness of delamination of the Al-SiC composite material thin sheet.
