HORIZONTAL MOUNTING TYPE ASSISTANT AIR BAG STRUCTURE IMPROVED DEVELOPMENT PERFORMANCE

PURPOSE: A structure of a horizontal mounting type passenger airbag is provided to easily inflate a cushion even when gas is not filled into the cushion uniformly by rotating a retainer and pushing a door plate with the cushion. CONSTITUTION: A structure of a horizontal mounting type passenger airbag to improve inflation performance is composed of an instrument panel(10), a door(20) divided by break lines(21,21') formed at the inside of the instrument panel, a door plate(30) coupled to the instrument panel and the inner surface of the door, a cushion housing(40) having an opening(41), a cushion(42) installed in the cushion housing, a front housing(50) located at the front of the cushion housing, an inflator(70) installed in the front housing, and a retainer(60) located between the inflator and the cushion housing. The front housing is integrated with the cushion housing. A hinge unit(61) is coupled to the top of the retainer. The cushion housing has an arc shape on the hinge unit.
