PURPOSE: A method and a system for managing a virtualized physical memory on a multi-processor system are provided to insert/remove/replace a memory module from the physical memory without making an OS(Operating System) order reconfiguration of the physical memory. CONSTITUTION: A processor(10) generates memory access including a real address related to a memory location of a physical memory system(22) in order to read/write data for the memory location of the physical memory system. A register(305) includes the first field(306) storing a real FROM-address matched with the first memory module and the second field storing(308) a real TO-address method the second memory module. A transfer engine(28) copies memory blocks of the first memory module to the second memory module based on the real FROM/TO address. A mapping engine(36) reprograms the second memory controller(34) to generate a write-memory request while the transfer engine copies the memory block to the second memory module from the first memory module, and respond to the memory request after the transfer engine copies the memory blocks to the second memory block from the first memory block.
