PURPOSE: A method for automatically classifying a text message and a mobile communication terminal implementing the same are provided to allow a user to easily check a received message by automatically classifying the message according to a rule. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal receives a text message(S300). The mobile communication terminal reads the text message(S310). The mobile communication terminal checks whether the text message corresponds to a pre-set classification rule(S320). If the text message corresponds to the classification rule, the mobile communication terminal performs a corresponding function to process the text message according to the set classification operation(S330). If the text message does not correspond to the set classification rule, the mobile communication terminal generates a bell sound to inform a user about arrival of the text message and moves the text message to a text message receiving box(S331).
