PURPOSE: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition for treatment and prevention of solid tumors comprising naphthazarin derivative S64 with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier as active ingredient. The composition specifically acts on solid tumors to inhibit the expression of Hsp70 gene and the activity of Hsp70 and/or Hsf protein, and reduces the amount of glutathione. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treatment and prevention of solid tumors is characterized by comprising, as active ingredient, naphthazarin derivative S64 represented by the formula, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The solid tumors include lung cancer, brain cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer and colon cancer.
