PURPOSE: A semiconductor device having a precharge circuit for precharging and/or equalizing global input/output lines and a layout of a transistor for precharging and/or equalizing are provided to increase precharge speed of the global input/output lines by providing the precharge circuit for precharging and/or equalizing on an array region. CONSTITUTION: A pair of local input/out lines(LIO1,LIOB1,LIO2,LIOB2) are connected to a pair of bit lines through a first switching circuit(150). A pair of global input/output lines(GIO,GIOB) are connected to the pair of local input/out lines(LIO1,LIOB1,LIO2,LIOB2) through a second switching circuit(160). detection amplifiers(130,140) are connected to the pair of global input/output lines(GIO,GIOB). The detection amplifiers(130,140) detects and amplifies data of the pair of global input/output lines(GIO,GIOB) to output the data. A plurality of first precharge circuits(171,172,173) are provided between the second switching circuit(160) and the detection amplifiers(130,140) and connected to the pair of global input/output lines(GIO,GIOB) to precharge and/or equalize the pair of global input/output lines(GIO,GIOB) in response to a first precharge control signal.
