PURPOSE: A valve drive system of an internal combustion engine is provided to efficiently open and shut suction valves or exhaust valves of the internal combustion engine having plural cylinders. CONSTITUTION: A valve drive system(10) of an internal combustion engine(1) is applied to the internal combustion engine having plural cylinders(2), to drive suction or exhaust valves(4,5) installed to each cylinder. The valve drive system has plural valve drive devices(11A,11B) installed to drive the suction or exhaust valves of the different cylinders. An electric motor as a driving source causing rotating motion, and a power transmission mechanism are installed to each valve drive device. The power transmission mechanism converts and transmits the rotating motion of the electric motor into the opening and shutting motion of the target valve through cams or link.
