2-PATH DEVICE ACCESS MANAGEMENT, ESPECIALLY BASED ON USER PRIVILEGES INFORMATION IN BOTH CENTRALIZED ACCESS MANAGER AND NETWORK PERIPHERAL DEVICE

PURPOSE: A 2-path device access management is provided to control and customize an access to services and/or features of a network peripheral device by a non-enterprise user by using a centralized mechanism, and to access privilege information for managing devices/resources at enterprise level. CONSTITUTION: An access controller checks an access level of a walk-up user for services/features by using retrieved access policy information(S307). The access controller decides whether an access to the services/features is permitted(S308). If so, the access controller transmits an access policy to a device(S310). If the device obtains the access policy information from an authentication server, the access controller judges a user's access to services and/or features provided by the device based on the access policy information(S311). The access to the services/features of the device is permitted at a judged access level(S312).
